My {Un-Word} of the Year

What is an Un-Word?  Simply a word that I hereby reject for 2014 with all my being.  I'm joining these ladies, Edie, Darlene, Nester, and Angela today to publicly decry a word that will be no longer have ownership or a place in our lives in 2014.

My word is 'under'.

I have been under the oppressive guise of health issues for the last year.  I am tired of missing my life!  My thyroid cannot decide if it wants to work or not, leaving me daily under the influence of how, or if, it chooses to function. The man who discovered the disease of the fickle thyroid was named Hashimoto. He said the thyroid was being attacked by the body - making it an autoimmune disease.  I think my thyroid is just getting a little too big for her britches.   I should name it.  I think I will.  Thelma Thyroid has a mind of her own, and she's sassy and belligerent.  She needs some discipline.  I think she's older than her time and doesn't care who or what her attitude affects, which is everything.

I am hereby no longer under the oppression of Thelma Thyroid.  You will not dictate my attitude any longer.  I intend to function in spite of you.  Hear that Thelma?

    1. Haha! Thanks so much for visiting Linda! I am in a good place lately but I just hate the idea that it could change in the blink of an eye! Blessings to you in this new year!

  2. Here's to a new year where you won't be "under" Thelma's influence any longer! Loved your post! Visiting from the Nester, but just barely got my One Word post done. Wondering if it is legit to do an Un-word, too. Blessings on your new year!

    1. So nice to meet you Anne! Welcome! I just clicked on your profile and I found a link to The Circle Maker. This was the most amazing and life-changing book that I may need to read again for this new year!
